Dr. Thanuja Dassanayake (Dr.T)
Dr. Thanuja graduated in 1998 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka. She started her own companion animal practice in Sri Lanka which prospered for 6 years, before making the decision to immigrate to Canada in 2004. In 2009 Dr. Thanuja completed her M.SC from the University of Guelph while also preparing for the Canadian Veterinary Licence. She was a participant in the VSTEP (Veterinary Skills Training & Enhancement Program) at the Ontario Veterinary College, Guelph for foreign veterinarians. Dr. Thanuja got the opportunity to refine her skills under the guidance of OVC professionals. After obtaining her Canadian Veterinary Licence she worked as an Associate Veterinarian for several years. In 2016, Dr. Thanuja pursued her dream of owning her own clinic and opened New Tecumseth Animal Clinic where she will provide her services to the New Tecumseth township and surrounding areas.
When she is not working, she likes to spend her time with her husband Pubudu, 2 sons Ishanka , Trevin, her mom and her pet dog Leah.
Sam Pryce
Sam has been working in the veterinary field for over sixteen years. She stays on top of current trends, medical advances, research and industry news by attending seminars and continuing education courses on different subject matter related to her profession, including critical care, orthopedic rehabilitation, laser therapy, canine health and behavior assessment and modification.
Sam loves animals and it shows with the diversity of her “pet family”. Sam is owned by her two domestic short haired cats named Gin and Rocks, as well as barnyard of chickens and ducks. When not working, Sam enjoys spending time with her dogs and is active in the dog sport community with her Border Collies and Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers. Since 2008, Sam has been the team captain of Pretty Darn Quick Flyball club, competing in tournaments across Ontario and the USA. Sam’s family also operates a small breeding kennel, breeding Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers.
